Old photographs are great, in part, because of the stories they tell. Which is why I was so interested by this
set of mug shots from New Castle, Pennsylvania. Angus, who lives in Edinburgh, bought the collection off ebay, and before posting took it upon himself to research the crimes these people were charged with.

Jack G. Robertson was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct on December 9, 1948. With that sweater on, I wonder if he was coming back from a Christmas party. Or just getting into the Christmas spirit a little early.

James Hall was arrested August 19, 1944, for disorderly conduct--distributing literature without a license. He looks like a cool guy. Someone you could talk about Communism with.

Loyes Langdoff, the only woman of the group thus far, was also arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct on March 2, 1940.
Check out the other mug shots in this set, and be sure to read the captions for some really interesting stories.
