When I was really young, there was this sign by the road at this ranch near where I lived. It had a large "M" set inside an oval. My theory is that the M in an oval looked like a face with angry, arching eyebrows. I called it "The big, mean sign." Anyway, that sign scared the living crap out of me, and I cried and hid my face below the car seat every time we drove by it, and I refused to walk out that far. I guess I was a child frightened by typography. :)
I don't have a scary letter, but when I watched Mr. McGoo as a kid, I loved the word Voltage. Don't know why.
