school supplies roundup

These are the supplies I can't live without and will be stocking up on before the new school year begins.

1. Rhodia Classic Staple Bound Notebook, 4 3/8" x 6 3/8", available at thedailyplanner.com
These notebooks are great for making lists and staying organized. I like the medium size to jot down what's due for class, and they fit easily in a purse. The pages are vellum coated, allowing your pen to glide across the pages with ease. Even if you aren't in art school, the small size is good for taking notes in, as your hand won't get as tired if you were using a standard size notebook.

2. Pigma Micron Pens, various sizes, available at Sakura
Every artist has probably been asked to buy these pens by one of their teachers, only to discover how amazing they are. They come in so many sizes, you'll convince yourself you need them all. They are felt tipped and create beautiful lines.

3. Best Test Rubber Cement, available at your local art store or utrechtart.com
Rubber cement is incredible! It never bubbles, like Elmer's, and if you find there is excess peaking out, just rub it off and it's gone. Amazing! Just be sure to open a window if you plan on using a lot of it for a long period of time, or you'll end up with the worst headache.

4. Steadtler Mars Plastic Eraser, available at your local art store or utrechtart.com
The indispensable white eraser. Especially good for removing pencil marks from matte board.

5. uni-ball Vision Micro (.5mm) Pen, available at your local office supply store or artsuppliesonline.com
These are my everyday pens. I love writing these guys. So smooth and the ink never fades. Also Available in fine (.7mm)

What are some office/art/school supplies you can't live without?
