knit wit

On my way to class Monday morning, I opened the front door of my building and thought, "Oh hi 50 degrees. Haven't felt you in a while. How's it going?"

It's finally starting to feel like autumn. With chilly winds and warm sun. It's makes me want to start knitting again.

I'm inspired by Jared of Brooklyn Tweed. I'm thinking of starting something pretty simple, like a large blanket. Basically a lace pattern repeated.

I'd really like to start experimenting with knitting with two colors at once, also known as intarsia and fair isle.

And attempt to make a sweater at some point, too.

But for now, I think I am going to head to Lovely Yarns in Hampden, pick up some sock weight merino, and try my needles at a first pair of socks for Socktoberfest.
